The picturesque Saugatuck Reservoir in Weston, CT was home to a small neighborhood called, Valley Forge. This once thriving community of mills, forges and farms has vanished from memory and sight. The only reminder being photographs.
Join the Weston History & Culture Center and the Weston Library Photography Club for an exploration of this forgotten valley. Late 19th century images produced from glass plate negatives capture the people and places before the building of the Saugatuck Reservoir in the late 1930s. View images and video of the building of the Samuel Senior Dam and the transformation of the area. Modern-day photos explore the only clues left behind from this small, forgotten village.
After opening day, this exhibit is on view during our Public Open Hours:
Thursdays from 1pm - 4pm
The First and Last Sunday of the month: 1pm - 4pm
Closed on Holiday Weekends and Holidays
