A Letter from our President
Dear Friends of the Weston History & Culture Center,
My name is Stacey Youell and I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new President of the Board of Trustees of the Weston History & Culture Center. I look forward to getting to know you, hearing your ideas and your stories, and working together to write the next chapter of WHCC's story.
Fall is traditionally a season for reaping the harvest of work that has come before, in preparation for seasons to come. In that spirit, I want to take a moment to thank the two individuals whose instrumental leadership inspired and made our next chapter possible.
After seven remarkable years, our Executive Director Samantha Fargione has moved on to her well-earned next chapter. Sam's indelible mark includes reimagining the Coley House as a living example of Weston life in the 1940s, giving the Coley Barn new life as the home for our world-class "Weston at Work" permanent exhibit, and serving as the cheerful face of our organization, leading countless programs and tours for thousands of visitors, educating dozens of schoolchildren and nurturing many young interns. Sam gave this organization her whole heart and leaves behind a legacy any organization would be proud of. We are deeply grateful for everything she built.
I also want to express my sincere gratitude to my predecessor, Pam Kersey, who led this board with grace, vision, and dedication for many years. Under Pam's leadership, WHCC grew in ways that will benefit our community for generations to come. Fortunately, Pam remains a valued member of our Board of Trustees, and her wisdom and passion for this organization will continue to guide and inspire us.
Now, about that exciting road ahead.
We have been actively searching for a new Executive Director and look forward to introducing that person to you in the coming weeks. At the WHCC, we are using this moment as a catalyst for an exciting new era, expanding our cultural programming and community engagement for all ages in 2027 - including a 1970s-themed "Glitter Ball Gala" that promises to be an unforgettable evening. More on that soon!
First, though, we have a wonderful fall season already in full swing, and I hope you will join us:
Knitting for Beginners — 4-class series launching Wednesday, September 30 (Update: this class has since been cancelled.)
Loyalty & Zeal: Algonkians of the Revolution — outdoor program, Sunday, October 4
Backstories & Breakfast: Witches in CT — our inaugural speaker series, Wednesday, October 28

And don't forget, our beautiful campus is open and welcoming visitors during the following hours — no reservation required:
Open Hours: Sundays, September 27, October 4, and October 25, from 1:00–4:00 pm
Regular Thursday Hours: every Thursday, 1:00–4:00 pm
Finally, I'd genuinely love to hear from you - what would you like to see more of and what would make WHCC feel more like yours. This organization exists to serve the Weston community, and who better to drive ideas than the very community who live and work here and contribute to making it so special. With warmth and excitement for what lies ahead,
